The Tolleson Police and Court Center project, built for the City of Tolleson, included the new construction of a 22,420 square foot municipal justice center located in Tolleson, AZ. The facility houses the Tolleson Police Department, Tolleson City Court, and emergency dispatch operations center. The justice center was constructed based on the design of the historical Tolleson Union High School with two exterior flanking pavilions, an artistic water feature, and outdoor civic plaza. The project also features municipal courtrooms, evidence processing and storage vaults, interview and interrogation rooms, locker rooms, briefing and community rooms, fitness center, and three temporary holding cells to accommodate four people each. The project achieved LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the use of recycled and low emitting materials and the installation of solar panels and collectors. The Tolleson Police and Court Center now encourages positive interaction between the community and municipal services while preserving the City of Tolleson’s historical heritage.
