The Drexel Heights Fire Station No. 401 Remodel project included selective demolition, renovations, and additions to an 8,882-square-foot facility in Tucson, AZ. The project additions featured a lobby area, study, dining room, office, and fitness room. In addition, the existing interior of the station was remodeled to provide new dormitories, a kitchen, and storage areas, and the renovations included interior finishes, interior walls, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as new electrical fixtures, ductwork, roofing, trusses, and roll-up doors. The project also included new parking lots, a new septic system, and two new pre-manufactured buildings. The facility was constructed on a concrete foundation supported by footings with a structural steel frame comprised of cold-formed metal and load-bearing masonry, an exterior skin of masonry and metal panel, and a metal panel roof.
