The Gila River Indian Community District No. 4 Public Safety Facility was constructed in Sacaton, AZ. This ground-up facility serves the fire, police, and EMS departments. The facility features a five-bay fire station, including a designated decontamination zone, hazmat storage, a turnout gear room, captain’s offices, and 12 dorm rooms, with two larger rooms designated for captains. Shared-use areas with EMS include an EMS report room and a large EMS supply room, along with two super offices, two super dorms, and six additional crew dorms
. The interior of the building offers shared spaces such as a kitchen, dining area, fitness area, and dayroom. An expansive community room serves for training or community events, with a flexible divider that can split it into two functional spaces. The facility emphasize wellness, incorporating outdoor patio areas and an interior meditation room.
The police section includes offices for division chiefs and managers, report writing areas, records storage, and a K-9 unit with kennels and a dog run. The facility provides modern, efficient, and functional spaces for Gila River Indian Community’s first responders to live and work for years to come.
