The Queen Creek Library project included the new construction of a 47,000-square-foot facility in Queen Creek, AZ. Designed to inspire learning and connection, the multipurpose community gathering place features expansive general reading rooms, a vibrant children’s center, private study rooms, and versatile conference spaces. This project achieved LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council based on the sustainable features of solar reflective insulating foam on the roof, low-volatile organic compound paints, an underground storm water retention system, and water-efficient plumbing fixtures. The library was constructed with a steel and masonry structural frame on a slab-on-grade concrete foundation, an exterior of masonry, aluminum storefront and limestone veneer, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), standing seam metal roof. As the first civic building in Queen Creek to incorporate green building practices, the Queen Creek Library stands as a beacon of sustainability and community enrichment, setting a new standard for public infrastructure in the region and serving as a testament of CORE’s state-of-the-art green building practices.
