The Scottsdale Museum of the West project, built for the City of Scottsdale, included the new construction of a two-story, 35,300 square foot exhibit hall located in Scottsdale, AZ. The facility houses gallery areas, studios, dining, retail space, theater, and an exterior courtyard. The exhibit hall was constructed on a concrete foundation with a steel structural frame, a hybrid steel and concrete tilt wall, pre-weathered copper metal paneling exterior, oak wood interior, and a membrane roof. The project also featured the incorporation of the adjacent Loloma Transit Building into the new construction, bioswales that capture and repurpose street, roof, and surface runoff water, and an outdoor amphitheater. The museum achieved LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for high performance in sustainable site development, water and energy conservation, and indoor environmental quality. The Scottsdale Museum of the West project has become a main historical arts destination in Historic Downtown Scottsdale.
