The Mica Mountain High School project, constructed for the Vail Unified School District, included the new build of a 183,709-square-foot high school campus in Tucson, AZ. The facility supports 12 buildings and approximately 1,000 students. The campus features a gymnasium, wrestling and training buildings, an arts and auditorium building, a kitchen, a cafeteria, a student union, an administration building, classrooms, and staff buildings. The project also features baseball and softball athletic fields, an artificial turf football field and track, exterior basketball courts, an exterior amphitheater, and on-site staff and student parking lots. The high school campus was constructed on a concrete foundation supported by footings with a load-bearing masonry, wood and truss structural frames, an exterior insulation and finish system, metal panel exterior, and a metal panel and thermoplastic polyolefin roof.
