The Solar Installations at Costco Wholesale projects, built for SunPower Corporation Systems, included the addition of 2.4 megawatts of roof-mounted photovoltaic solar arrays at multiple retail warehouse store locations throughout Phoenix, AZ. The arrays function as a renewable electrical power source by converting solar energy from direct current into alternating current and distributing energy to the service entrance sections of each retail warehouse store. Construction of the photovoltaic arrays consisted of the installation of ballast racks and solar panel modules on the racks, electrical conduits, and wiring for transferring power from the solar panels to inverters. The Costco Wholesale projects now provide sustainable, economical, and cost effective clean energy for store operations.
