The Ed Pastor Justice and Detention Center project, built for Santa Cruz County, involved the new construction of a 166,000 square foot municipal correctional facility and law enforcement center located in Nogales, AZ. The facility includes the Santa Cruz U.S. Marshall’s Office, the Clerk of the Superior Court, and the Tony Estrada Law Enforcement building. The center houses approximately 380 individuals in the adult and juvenile detention areas. The municipal correctional facility and law enforcement center was constructed of a concrete foundation, masonry structural frame, painted brick exterior, and a foam roof system and incorporated day lighting systems and high efficiency mechanical systems. The project also features five courtrooms, public counters, and administrative offices. Due to CORE’s construction efforts, the Ed Pastor Justice and Detention Center project fulfilled Santa Cruz County’s need of providing streamlined services for public access to justice services in a central location.
