The Arthur Ashe Charter Elementary School project, built for the Louisiana Department of Education Recovery School District, included the new construction of a 95,727-square-foot elementary school located in New Orleans, LA. The facility houses five buildings and supports approximately 450 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The project features classrooms, laboratories, business offices, a gymnasium, a media center, music and performance spaces, a library, and a full kitchen. The project achieved LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for site development, optimized energy performance, the use of recycled and regionally produced materials, and efficient lighting system design and controllability. Arthur Ashe Charter Elementary School, which was constructed to replace a school destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, now provides an environmentally friendly educational facility for the community.
