The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School project included the new construction of a three-story, 139,000-square-foot building located in New Orleans, LA. This school includes classrooms, laboratories, a gymnasium, and a theater. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School project achieved LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the implementation of state-of-the art electrical and emergency systems, in addition to sustainable green energy systems. The high school, which supports kindergarten through 12th grade, was constructed using a concrete and structural steel frame on a precast concrete and timber piles foundation. An exterior consisting of a concrete masonry unit block with brick veneer and composite wall panels, and a built-up flat roof system completed the construction. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School offers a state-of-the-art educational environment that honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while empowering the students of the Lower Ninth Ward.
