The Tucson Fire Station No. 9 Demolition and Rebuild project, built for the City of Tucson, included the demolition and new construction of a 19,250-square-foot fire station on approximately 1.38 acres. The facility consisted of eight apparatus bays (four for light duty), 17 dormitories, a fitness room, and a living space. The project incorporated environmental design principles to reduce energy consumption and water preservation in masonry block units with exposed block and metal panel finishes. Fire Station No. 9 was constructed on a concrete foundation supported by footings with a wood frame and truss frame, a masonry exterior, and a single-ply roof. The completed facility now provides a safe, efficient, technology-equipped, and training-adapted spaces to serve first responders at every part of their day.
