The Solar Installation at the Buckeye Elementary School District project, built for RF BESD Development Corporation, included the new construction of 3.26 megawatt roof-mounted and ground-mounted photovoltaic solar arrays at six elementary schools and the district office located in Buckeye, AZ. The solar panels function as a renewable power source by converting solar energy from direct current into alternating current and distributing energy to the service entrance sections of each facility. Construction of the photovoltaic arrays consisted of the installation of ballast racks and solar panel modules on the racks, electrical conduits, and wiring for transferring power from the solar panels to inverters. The Solar Installation at Buckeye Elementary School District project now provides 70% of the Buckeye Elementary School District’s energy needs through renewable solar energy.
