The Arbol De La Vida and Likins Hall project, built for the University of Arizona, included the new construction of undergraduate residence halls in Tucson, AZ. These two six-story, 332,925-square-foot undergraduate residence halls collectively house over 1,000 students and were constructed using local materials and traditional red brick cladding, reflecting the University’s architectural heritage. Designed to meet diverse student needs, the facilities feature suite-style double rooms, ADA-accessible accommodations, lounges, lobbies, study rooms, kitchen and dining spaces, laundry rooms, conference rooms, recreational areas, and enclosed outdoor spaces. Achieving LEED Platinum Certification, the project integrates environmentally efficient systems such as stormwater capture, daylighting, and climate management, alongside indoor courtyards that enhance sustainability and student well-being. Notably, Arbol De La Vida and Likins Hall now accommodate the highest percentage of collegiate students with disabilities in the State of Arizona, setting a new benchmark for accessibility and inclusivity in higher education.
