The Pinetop Fire Station No. 110 project, built for the Pinetop Fire District, involved the construction of a two-story, 12,700-square-foot fire station in Pinetop, AZ, drawing its identity from the surrounding White Mountains in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest and the alpine community of Pinetop-Lakeside. The facility supports fire suppression, vehicle rescue, public education, fire extinguishing training, and humanitarian assistance response training (HART) courses. The project features administrative offices, a fitness room, dorms, dining areas, a kitchen, and vehicle bays. The hose tower for the facility was designed to be used for HART training and forest fire observation. The fire station was constructed using vertical seam roof panels in burnished slate with a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) coating finish, insulated concrete foam formwork exterior wall siding, and masonry on the training tower. Due to the project’s design and CORE’s dedication to quality construction, Pinetop Fire Station No. 110 was awarded a Career Category Gold Medal in Fire Station Design by Firehouse Magazine.
