The new City of Irving Central Fire Station is the City’s flagship station, embodying both modern functionality and a deep respect for Irving’s history. The two-bay, 10,200-square-foot facility was constructed on a drilled concrete piers foundation with a structural steel frame, masonry and EIFS cladding, and a single-ply roof. It features a repair shop, storm shelter, decontamination, a workout room, and the living and working areas needed to support a comfortable and functional fire station. A unique highlight of the facility is its fire station museum featuring brick from the Old Central Fire Station, an antique fire truck, and additional elements honoring the history and architectural aesthetic of the original station. Together, these elements preserve the legacy of Irving’s fire service while providing a modern facility designed to support first responders and serve the community for generations to come.
