The new City of Irving Central Fire Station is the flagship station for the City of Irving, TX, embodying both modern functionality and a deep respect for the City’s history. The two bay, 10,200-square-foot facility was constructed on a drilled concrete piers foundation with a structural steel frame, masonry and EIFS cladding, and a single-ply roof. It features a repair shop, storm shelter, decontamination, a workout room, and the living and working areas needed to support a comfortable and functional fire station. A unique highlight of the facility is its fire station museum featuring brick from the Old Central Fire Station, an antique fire truck, and additional elements honoring the history and architectural aesthetic of the original station.
