The City of Richardson Fire Station No. 3 project involved the relocation of the existing station to a new three-bay, 13,200-square-foot facility in Richardson, TX. The new fire station features drive-through bay access, dorm rooms including officer’s quarters, a kitchen and dining room, a spacious living room that serves as a gathering area for firefighters, and a fitness center. The project also includes a storm shelter and polished concrete floor. The facility features an outdoor public art piece inspired by a vintage fire hose nozzle and provides adequate space for more trucks, equipment, and personnel to serve a growing population. The building was constructed with a drilled concrete pier foundation with structural steel framing, a masonry exterior, and a metal panel roof.
