The University of Arizona Facilities Management Building project included the new construction of a 67,000-square-foot facility in Tucson, AZ. The project brought together Facility Management operations from 20 locations across campus and relocated the primary administration, warehouse, and shop functions to be utilized for a new 138 kilovolt (kV) utility-scale substation. The facility now serves the University, Banner Hospital, and the community with more reliable and efficient power while building in needed redundancy. The new structure was constructed on a concrete foundation supported by footings with Pre-engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB), a steel structure, an Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS), and metal panel exterior, and a single-ply roof. The project recieved LEED Silver Certification form the U.S. Green Building Counfil upon completion.
