The Monte Vista Elementary School project, built for Creighton Elementary School District No. 14, included the new construction of a 106,000-square-foot elementary school located in Phoenix, AZ. The facility houses four buildings consisting of two two-story classroom buildings for kindergarten through eighth grade, a multipurpose room with a cafeteria and gymnasium, and administrative offices. The project also features a platform stage, music classrooms, full kitchen, library, and computer labs as well as new baseball and soccer fields. Site work included demolition of the old school campus, relocation of existing sports lighting, new fire lanes, and refurbishment of the parking lot. The elementary school was constructed on a spread footings foundation with a masonry structural frame, an exterior insulation and finish system, stucco walls, and metal panel siding with an SBS roof. Monte Vista Elementary School was awarded the K-12 Education Award of Merit by ENR Southwest, and due to CORE’s effective planning and coordination, the project was completed on time and under budget.
