The Linda Abril Education Academy project, built for Phoenix Union High School District No. 210, included the demolition and new construction of a two-story, 43,500-square-foot high school located in Phoenix, AZ. The facility, formerly known as the Suns-Diamondbacks Education Academy, supports approximately 400 students in Grades 11 and 12 in a small school environment. The school features a full-service kitchen, multipurpose room, and science learning laboratories as well as parking canopies, basketball and tennis courts, and athletic fields for soccer, softball, and baseball. The high school was constructed on a concrete footings foundation with a masonry and structural steel frame. A masonry, metal panel siding, and exterior insulation and finish system with a garland built-up roof completed the construction. Due to CORE’s educational building experience, the Linda Abril Education Academy now offers a personalized and flexible educational environment for students.
