The Gardnerville Elementary School Addition and Renovation project, completed for the Douglas County School District, included select demolition, extensive renovations, and new additions to the 23,461-square-foot elementary school located in Gardnerville, NV. The facility supports 551 students and 23 teachers for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. The project consisted of upgrades to the school’s lighting systems, specifically lighting retrofits, daylight harvesting controls, light control sensors, and structural and energy-efficient improvements to windows, insulation, and mechanical equipment. The project also featured the creation of a front entrance with a direct line of sight from the main office for maximum security, two playground areas, and separations between bus loading zones and student drop-off locations. The Gardnerville Elementary School Addition and Renovation project now serves as an energy-efficient, secure, and modern learning space for the elementary school students in the district.
