The Town of Westlake Fire-EMS Station No. 1 project included the new construction of a four-bay, 17,834-square-foot emergency response facility located in Westlake, TX. The fire station, which offers a unique Italian inspired design, houses drive-through bay access, seven dorm rooms including officer’s quarters, a fitness area, a kitchen with a dining room, and a hose tower. The project also included the construction of a separate building, connected to the fire station by a covered patio. This facility provides offices for the Fire Chief, Fire Marshal and Administrative Assistant, and includes a hardened enclosure that houses a training room, Emergency Operation Center and a conference room which can also serve as a safe house. The project was constructed on a slab-on-grade concrete foundation with a structural steel frame, rock and plaster exterior, and a metal standing seam roof with clay tile. Westlake Fire-EMS Station No. 1 now provides fire and emergency medical services to the surrounding community in a secure and aesthetically pleasing facility.
