The William O’Brien Middle School Replacement project, built for Washoe County School District, included the demolition and new build of 180,147-square-foot buildings located in Reno, NV. The project included a new Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) school building, a maintenance building, a pump house building, and a sports facility. Phase I consisted of mass grading. Phase II included the new middle school construction on the active campus. Phase III featured off-site improvements and the utility construction between Stead Elementary and O’Brien Middle School. During Phase IV, O’Brien Middle School underwent hazardous abatement and full demolition of the building. Finally, in Phase V CORE implemented new joint-use play-fields, basketball courts and parking.This project was constructed on a concrete foundation, a load-bearing and structural steel frame, a concrete block, metal panel, and masonry exterior, and a polyvinyl chloride and single-ply roof.
