The Tonopah Middle School Modernizations project, completed for the Nye County School District, included the partial demolition and extensive renovation of an 18,064-square-foot middle school. The facility supports approximately 185 students in kindergarten through eighth grade and houses a gymnasium, restrooms, and locker rooms. The project also featured painting, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical upgrades, and environmental abatements for mold and asbestos in the boiler and locker rooms. The middle school was constructed on a slab-on-grade concrete foundation with framing and drywall, and ceramic tile. Due to CORE’s modernization efforts, the Tonopah Middle School Modernizations project now provides a stable, healthy environment for community disaster relief efforts, and supports student academic and athletic achievement.
