The Lake George Elementary School project, completed for Orange County Public Schools, included significant renovations to an occupied, 55,000-square-foot elementary school in Orlando, FL. Classroom renovations were completed in six phases, with each phase spanning eight weeks and entailing eight to 12 classrooms. The Lake George Giraffe’s media center, cafetorium, kitchen, and administration areas also received extensive renovations. Additionally, the project’s scope included HVAC equipment replacement, generator and chiller upgrades, and new electrical, lighting, intercom, technology, and fire alarm systems. By rotating students from the areas to be renovated into portable classrooms, and through the implementation of fencing, doubling gating, and covered walkways, the campus was kept safe and the learning environment uninterrupted throughout construction.
