The Orange County Convention Center West Concourse Roof Replacement project, built for the Board of County Commissioners of Orange County Florida, included the renovation and replacement of a 1,242,648-square-foot roof at the Orange County Convention Center located in Orlando, FL. The facility, which is the second largest convention venue in the United States, has two buildings and houses 200+ conventions, tradeshows, meetings, banquets, consumer events, and publicly ticketed events for over a million visitors annually. The construction of the roof consisted of removing the existing single-ply membrane and installing a thermoplastic polyolefin and single-ply reflective roofing membrane in seven segments. The project also featured roof drains, scuppers for drainage, steel ladders, lightning protection, skylights, and flashings to prevent leaks in joints. Due to CORE’s renovation efforts and efficient project management scheduling, the Orange County Convention West Concourse Roof Replacement project construction occurred while the convention center remained operational with minimal disruption to visitors.
