The Dandini Health and Sports Complex project, built for Truckee Meadows Community College, involved the new construction of a 20,072-square-foot fitness and health center, regulation soccer fields, and a 800-square-foot field house on the active college campus located in Reno, NV. The fitness and health center features fitness classrooms, locker rooms and showers, a 9,000-square-foot multi-use gymnasium, weight training and conditioning area. The soccer-specific facility boasts a 100,000-square-foot natural grass playing surface, a 400-meter decomposed granite track around the field, sports lighting, an electronic scoreboard, a fieldhouse for team storage, bleachers and parking areas. The facility was constructed on a spread footing foundation with a concrete masonry unit and steel structural frame. An exterior of metal panels, translucent wall panels, concrete masonry unit, and an insulation and finish system with a single-ply roof completed the construction. The Dandini Health and Sports Complex now provides a state-of-the-art fitness facility for students, staff, and faculty at Truckee Meadows Community College.
