The Janie Barron Campus Renovation at Palmer Elementary School project, built for Palmer Independent School District, included the new construction of a 65,000-square-foot elementary school located in Palmer, TX. The facility supports 397 students in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. The project features three classroom wings, a centralized administration area, gymnasium, multiuse cafeteria with a performance stage, and a kitchen. The project also features a 500 occupant capacity ICC 500 certified storm shelter which serves a dual role as an attached classroom wing. The elementary school was constructed utilizing a structural concrete slab foundation with an insulating concrete form and concrete masonry unit block structural frame. An exterior of masonry and stone, and a built-up standing seam roof completed the construction.
