The Water Spring Middle School project, constructed for the School Board of Orange County Florida, involved the new construction of a 169,604-square-foot campus located in Winter Garden, FL. The campus consists of four multi-story buildings which house an administration office, kitchen, dining/multi-purpose room, a media center, classrooms, skills/resource laboratories, and art and music spaces. Water Spring Middle School also features a gymnasium which doubles as an enhanced hurricane protection area. The campus buildings were constructed upon a concrete foundation supported by footings, with structural steel and tilt-up concrete frames and single-ply roofing. Water Spring Middle School now provides a permanent home to over 1,000 Wildcat students, who were previously sharing a learning space at a local high school.
