CORE in the News: Phoenix jobs will stay, despite HQ move to Texas

Despite the announcement CORE West Inc., parent company of CORE Construction, plans to move its headquarters to Frisco, Texas, company leadership said it will continue to grow and thrive in Arizona.

Todd Steffen, president of CORE Construction, said only one job currently located in Arizona will move to Texas, and the company will continue employing 204 workers in Arizona, with plans to add a new office in Mesa. “We are not leaving Arizona,” Steffen said. “We are thriving here. We had record sales in Arizona in 2017 for the K-12, municipal and higher ed markets.”

Steffen said for the last seven years, the Phoenix office has been the “epicenter” of the company’s operations, but it was difficult for some of the functions based out of Phoenix to serve offices in states in different time zones, like the office in Sarasota, Fla. Some functions, such as IT, virtual construction and accounting will be relocated to better serve the entire company.
