The Dorothy C. York Innovation Academy project, completed for Hillsborough County Public Schools, involved the new construction of a 409,828-square-foot campus located in Apollo Beach, FL. Serving kindergarten through eighth grade, Dorthy C. York Innovation Academy features five campus buildings varying from single-story to three stories, and connected by elevated walkways. The concrete tilt wall buildings were constructed on concrete foundations supported by footings and feature built-up roof systems. The campus also includes parking, playgrounds, and sports fields. Constructed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with an accelerated schedule, the CORE team worked diligently to overcome procurement and workforce challenges to deliver the home of the Admirals on time and to the highest quality.
