The Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center Addition and Renovation project, built for the City of Dallas, included the renovation and new construction of a 23,944-square-foot municipal community health center located in Dallas, TX. The facility supports the Baylor Healthcare System’s Diabetes Clinic and Wellness Center and the City’s existing Recreation and Health Center. The project features a gymnasium with a multipurpose striped sports court, rehabilitation pool, fitness center, kitchen, playground, sports fields, meeting rooms and a parking lot. The project also included ceramic tiling and hydraulically applied limestone veneer. The municipal community health center was constructed on a foundation of cast-in-place concrete with concrete piers and shafts and a steel structural frame. A brick exterior with a TPO single-ply roof completed the construction. The Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center now offers a modernized multigenerational facility to the community for after school programs, camps, and youth and adult sports.
