The Scottish Rite Theater project included the renovation of the historic Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown Peoria, IL. Originally built in 1925, the existing building was updated with new electrical and HVAC systems, new exterior and stage lighting, and a new curtain/rigging system. The project also included renovations to the banquet hall kitchen, refurbishment of the historic glass stained windows, and exterior upgrades including significant repairs to the slate roofing, copper flashing, and exterior masonry walls. The improvements brought the facility up to current safety and health code requirements, and the theater now provides a unique and historic venue for the community’s performing artists and visitors.
