The City of Dallas Fire Station No. 50 project included the new construction of a two-bay and a two-half bay, 12,315-square-foot fire station. The facility houses Engine 50 and Rescue 50 and supports all fire-related operations, administration, communications, prevention, education, inspection, and Emergency Medical Services for the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department. The station features drive-through bay access, a watch area, kitchen, dining room, living room, dormitories, restrooms, showers, and a fitness room to accommodate 15 full-time firefighters per shift. The fire station achieved LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainability and energy efficiency. The fire station was constructed on a slab-on-grade foundation with a steel structural frame and a bitumen roofing system. Dallas Fire Station No. 50 now provides effective and rapid emergency, fire, rescue, and prevention services to the surrounding community.
