The Mt. Pulaski High School Addition and Renovation project, built for Mount Pulaski Community Unit School District #23, included an 83,935-square-foot addition and renovations to the existing facility. The new addition features state-of-the-art classroom space, a gymnasium and locker rooms, administrative offices, and common space. Other features include combined learning commons and a media center for student collaboration, independent study, and project break-out sessions. An expanded entrance at the southwest corner of the gymnasium adjacent to the parking lot now serves as an entrance for events. The exterior received a new terraced courtyard and outdoor classroom space. The addition was constructed of and aggregate piers, concrete footings and concrete masonry unit foundation with a concrete masonry unit, precast concrete and steel structural frame. A precast concrete, brick and ground faced block exterior, and an EPDM roof completed the construction.
