The Madison Center for the Arts project, built for Madison Elementary School District No. 38, included the new construction of a two-story, 24,500-square-foot performing arts center located in Phoenix, AZ. The facility supports the joint campuses of Madison No. 1 Elementary School and the district’s offices. The project features a 908-seat auditorium, a lobby to accommodate 250 people, 40-foot ceilings, and three enclosed sides with an electronically tinted glass system to limit excessive glare and heat gain from the western elevation. The performing arts center also features extensive stage rigging, lighting, and lighting controls. The facility was constructed on a concrete spread and continuous footing foundation with a steel and masonry structural frame, an exterior of masonry, glass, exterior insulation and finish system, and metal panels with a built-up roof. Due to CORE’s construction expertise, the Madison Center for the Arts project now provides a spacious and state-of-the-art venue for school, district, and community events.
